Description

RJ45 serial console port for Command Line Interface (CLI) management. Use an RJ45-to-DB9 serial console cable, also known as a rollover cable, to connect the Console port to your computer. Then configure the following settings as needed: RJ45 ports support 10/100/1000 Ethernet connections. A WAN port is active only if the corresponding SFP port is empty. By default, the WAN1 port is set to DHCP Client. Only time will tell how the development goes for the UXG-Pro. If you have an existing UniFi network with your own controller, this is probably going to be a better fit that the UDM or UDM-Pro. The unannounced base UXG should be a good little router, if Ubiquiti can get the software right. We recommend that you protect your networks from harmful outdoor environments and destructive ESD events with industrial-grade, shielded Ethernet cable from Ubiquiti. For more details, visit: ui.com/toughcable The pro models have lots of PoE, support redundant power via the USP-RPS, and have some limited L2+/L3 features like static routing and a DHCP server

Ubiquiti Support cannot assist in the creation of the config.gateway.json file nor will assistance be provided for command line configuration. If assistance is required, feel free to visit our Community to create a topic and ask for help with your desired configuration. UniFi OS Console - Can run all UniFi applications (Network, Protect, Talk, Connect, Access, and UID) Before: our original deployment included a single Unifi Switch 24 aggregator switch, the entry-level USG, the original Cloud Key hardware controller, and three UAP‑HD access points. I would still recommend these devices as a starter kit for those that want to deploy Unifi in a residential setting but substituting the Unifi nanoHD access points if cost is an issue. Original Unifi System. Credit Michael Connelly. Most 1st generation PoE switches have more PoE budget than the equivalent 2nd generation model. They are still a good buy if you need a lot of PoE. Their fans can get loud though.

Find the appropriate section with the custom changes in the config output, for our example above it would be the following: Hardware offloading lets you use dedicated hardware to accelerate some tasks. You can turn it on or off depending on what you are trying to do. This applies to the USG/USG-Pro, and also EdgeRouters. Gigabit routing is no issue, but firewall and encryption speeds are limited, with slightly higher limits than the USG.Basically a UDM-Pro without the built-in UniFi OS Console, 8-port Ethernet switch, or 3.5” HD bay for UniFi Protect. A comprehensive overview of your Network Health is readily available in the new dashboard. Monitor your network’s vitals and make on-the-fly adjustments as needed. Use the configurable reporting and analytics to monitor large user groups and expedite troubleshooting. Advanced search and sorting capabilities make network management more efficient.

The XG 16 has twelve 10 Gbps SFP+ slots and four 10 Gbps RJ45 Ethernet. The 2nd generation Aggregation, XG, or Enterprise models may be better options. To remove a certain advanced configuration, just delete the section pertinent to that configuration in the config.gateway.json. To completely remove all advanced configurations created in the config.gateway.json, delete the file or rename it. This will void all manual changes. The USG will be provisioned with the current config contained within the UniFi Network application. I was very limited on tools and time, but from what I remember I ended up using a nearby dumb switch, nuking the static IP on the Pi controller, rebooting it, and resetting the USG. (Keeping it completely on it's own network using the dumb switch.) I also made sure the USG was forgotten from the controller. User Tip: An easy way to test the validity of the json file is: python -m json.tool config.gateway.json Deleting Changes or Reverting to Previous State You may choose to restrict the collection or use of your personal information in the following ways:The UXG-Pro should be able to handle the same levels of connections as the UDM-Pro, which with IDS and IPS disabled can do 3.5Gbps. as described below, even the USG Pro 4 is unable to make full use of a symmetrical gigabit Internet connection with both IPS and DPI enabled (even before enabling QOS). This underlying OS difference causes some other differences. The UDM and UXG lines do not support editing the config.gateway.json file. By editing the configuration file manually, you were able to access features that Ubiquiti doesn’t put in the controller GUI. It also let you access hidden settings, and tweak features to work how you want. Normally, behind the scenes, the UniFi controller edits your configuration files for you. That only works with the features that Ubiquiti officially supports. If you’ve ever had to deploy a UniFi network, you know there are a many features not in the GUI. Unfortunately there is nothing like this going forward, and you are limited to what Ubiquiti shows in the controller. With the USG Pro 4, our WAN throughput with both IPS and DPI enabled is 479 Mbps up and 647 Mbps down, as reflected on the USG Pro 4’s new speed test. Recommended Configuration
